The original song of “Moonlight Serenade” is the Japanese song “Sayon’s Bell,” with lyrics by Yaso Saijo and music by Masao Koga. In the 1960s, Zhou Lanping adapted and wrote new lyrics for it, and it was first performed by Zi Wei, becoming a classic in the Chinese music scene.

This version is arranged for flute, clarinet, French horn, and piano, suitable for chamber music performances.
